Rahm Emanuel Notebook, Day 29

There are plenty more Rahm facts to share (his ties to various corrupt individuals; his attacks on teachers; and I haven’t even touched the potty mouth), but as Election Day approaches, we need to take a break from Rahm to look for a moment at his fellow insider, Gery Chico. Take a look at this new post on Don Washington's Mayoral Tutorial, which details certain contributions to Chico's campaign. Is this what “pay-to-play” looks like?

Remember, though, it's small-time compared to Rahm (see yesterday's Notebook). Chico's shady contributions come from Chicago companies seeking to get building contracts with the city. The $50K and $100K contributions to Rahm Emanuel, on the other hand, are largely from people who don't live in this city, see Chicago purely as an investment opportunity, and will stop at nothing to amass ever more obscene quantities of wealth.
