AREA Chicago is thrilled to present a mini internet showcase of Hideout Calendars, all designed by Alana Bailey of Alana Bailey Brand Posters.
The Hideout, “a clubhouse, a regular guy bar for irregular folks,” is a 100-year old balloon-frame house, located in the heart of the industrial corridor. Over the years it’s been home to everyone from button men and gin runners to musicians and teachers. The places hosts concerts, plays, book release parties, benefits, memorials, marriages, an annual Block Party, and more. It’s family – an institution welcoming all Chicagoans.
Alana Bailey has been working with the Hideout since 2006. She designs everything by hand and prints by hand at the legendary Screwball Press. Hideout Calendars have happened monthly since March of 2006, with only minor hiccoughs in production. October 2007 began an ongoing series of Hideout employee portraits, some of which are pictured here.
